Cockaponset SF - Weber Woods section

Date: 25 Sep 2012
Report Type: TA Report:
Trail Name: Cockaponset SF - Weber Woods section
Town: Clinton - Deep River - Westbrook
Trail Conditions: Dry - Blowdowns
Observations/Information: Made the usual rounds in the Chittenden Hill Preserve and CSP-WW. Found a few additional blow-downs of no great significance. Stopped and spoke with a horse riding neighbor. The lost people (see my entry of Sat 8 Sep)showed up at their door at 1930hrs, still trying to find the WW Carpark. They were driven around to their van, ending that saga.

On the return, crossing Chittenden Hill saw what I believe was a Northern Water Snake (next to a stream crossing that leads to a small pond). Water Snake seemed intent on staying on the warm pavement, but I was able to convince Water that back off the road was a better, safer place.
