National Trails Day Events:
CT NEMBA is co-sponsoring rides on June 2 at Goodwin Forest in Hampton, CT as part of the National Trails Day weekend events. There will be a led mountain bike ride of approximately 2.5 hours for intermediate and above mountain bikers, and a led ride on the Airline Rail Trail and local dirt roads of about 2 hours for athletic beginner and intermediate riders. Both rides start at 9 AM at the Goodwin Forest Conservation Education Center at 23 Potter Road in Hampton. Helmet and working mountain bike required. Rides are open to all at no charge. A hybrid or cyclocross bike would also be suitable for the Airline Trail ride.
Rides will be followed by a BYO cookout at the Goodwin pavilion (grill and grill master provided, bring your own grill items, side dishes, and drinks).
