Date: 3/21/12
Trail Name: Wadsworth Falls State Park
Town: Middletown
Al Tinti |
Trail Conditions: Good, still soft in some places but coming around nicely.
Observations/Information: First Chapter Meeting ride of the 2012 riding season and it was stellar and quite a turn out, 12 riders altogether. Looks like someone has been taking an interest in the trails at Wadsworth because the major single track sections look like they have received some leaf blower treatment. The one connector trail from the Yellow to the four corners still needs a lot of work left over from Snotober and the Hurricane, as well as the Gravity Cavity has been trashed.
Surprisingly, there were no mechanicals on this ride but it wouldn't be a good CT NEMBA ride without a little Trail Maintenance. This branch was sticking out in the middle of the trail near the location we call Taco Bell because of the mission style roof of the neighboring house reminds me of the Taco Bells I used it eat at when I was growing up in California. Anyway, everyone jumped off their bikes and made a team effort of moving this branch off the trail.
