Report Type: TA Report
Trail Name: Naugatuck State Forest
Town: Oxford/Beacon Falls
Trail Conditions: Typical Naugy. Watch for work (logging, construction)
Observations/Information: Did my little loop as a warmup, then headed up the east-of-Res 4 trail to the power lines then out to the fire road, down to the third (most eastward) branch to the south, then on the little curvy connector westward out to the first (most westward) branch, left onto the trail that runs to the east side of Res 2, around and back up.
Rocky places are still rocky. Nasty fall line is still nasty. Most places that were wet are dry (except the big puddles on the power line trail, and the boggy rock garden east of Res 2). The fire road branch I lopped last ride up there needs it again - the brambles are threatening to take over. Someone built a few log-overs on the curvy connector trail.
There's logging adjacent the fire road up top, and I passed some vehicles at the bend just above the branches. Also some construction happening to the southwest of Res 3 (the tree across the trail there is gone).
Some sandy patches: on an earlier ride, I took the trail that runs from Res 2 to the east side of Res 1, and almost dumped it at the 90 degree curve to the left (the same place I DID dump it on the ice last March).
Quick note (from a ride earlier this week): the Camaro is still there.

I really do need to get in there with my for-real photo rig and get some shots of the Camaro, before the DEEP finally honks it out of there. It's become something of a landmark. 8^)
