Trail Name: Case Mountain
Town: Glastonbury/Manchester
Trail Conditions: Good
Observations/Information: I participated in Al's last Raw ride of the year at Case Mountain Sunday morning (before the rain). There was quite a turnout of riders including one guy on a fat bike who performed some amazing feats of traction climbing up steep hills and over rocks. A moderate no-drop pace appropriate after a holiday season of gluttony and sloth. No mechanicals, which was pretty amazing for such a large ride.
We rode some new trails and some old trails, including some I had never ridden before. All were of the rocky and rooty type typical to Case. They were all in good condition and hard packed enough to ride without guilt. Some of the log-overs had been removed and it took away some of the challenge.
Overall a good, relatively mellow holiday season ride.
