Roosevelt Forest

Trail Name: Roosevelt Forest
Town: Stratford
Trail Conditions: Leaf covered, at times slick, minor mud, much blowdown
Observations/Information: First went for an hour's ride at Roosevelt Forest, Stratford, CT. Much blowdown with what appears to be select chain saw clearing, much more needs to be done.
Then went to Orange to check out the Turkey Hill Preserve (formerly the Hubbell property). They have paved and installed a drain at the entaurance driveway to the property. The driveway gets muddy beyond the paved driveway. Much blowdown blocking the trails. I encountered one 'driveby' and two 'inquireries' re: the status of this area now that the driveway is paved. Several old dirt roads, some old trails, most areas are rideable except for the hike a bike areas around the blowdowns.
