Date of Activity: 9/5/2010
Trail Conditions: Excellent
Trail Ambassador: Rick Brodsky
Observations: The trails were in the best shape I've seen all season. And there were plenty of people out enjoying the day. I saw a young couple preparing for a ride at the lot. They seemed to be new to mountain biking and were only interested in a leisurely ride on the Polly Brody. I then came across Skip and Rick (pic included) who are seasoned riders. They had headed up from the boat ramp and were planning to continue down the Polly Brody to the lot and then head up the maple syrup path to the Gussy. They didn't know about the entrance off the Scenic Road so I guided the way and we rode the Gussy backward. Lots of fun riding with a small group when I spend many of my rides solo here. We rode the whole Gussy to where it normally begins at the Polly Brody and thats where we parted ways. I then came across a couple lost on the Polly Brody trying to the find the boat ramp. They were going in the wrong direction and were thankful they met up with me. Saw 2 other bikers one of which was driving in and trying to find the lot. There is a new blowdown (pic included) near the rock wall. Looks like the gnomes have already begun working on it.
