Encounters and Observations: Our last day of summer hours at work so I wanted to sneak in a ride before the “storm”; got home and my hard tail’s new tires had arrived; I put them on in the garage while it began to downpour outside; I finished just about the same time the rain let off, so I dressed quickly and set out; c’mon, new tires and mud (beer and thirst)?; took the north part of the green over to the Quinimay for a bit, then back on the green to the west parking lot; filled the kiosk map box and noticed a car and truck side by side in the back of the lot. The car was fogged up and running and I couldn’t see anyone in it…….I don’t want to know, time to move on; headed up the blue back to the green; it rained lightly on and off the whole time, but overall the trails were in good shape, wet and a little slick with some standing water and mud; circled around and arrived home wet and muddy but happy I got the ride in; a good start to a long holiday weekend.

Don: Your reports inspired me last week to ride the Quinimay all the way from the kiosk map box to Rte 148 and the bottom of Filley Rd. and back. Nice.
