Paula and I attended the Scott Borrus Memorial Bench dedication at Branford Supply Pond on Saturday Sept. 11. Scott was an early and long standing chapter member who had a particular affinity for the Supply Pond trails. In fact, Scott was instrumental in helping the Branford Land Trust raise money to buy and preserve the parcel. Scott died of a heart attack while riding in 2008. I rode with Scott on the popular Tuesday night Supply Pond ride in the mid nineties, and remember his unbridled enthusiasm for the sport.
The dedication drew a large cross section of nature lovers. The granite bench is located in a shady area near a small stream, and is a great place for rest or contemplation.
