Report Type: TA Report
Trail Name: West Rock Ridge SP
Town: Hamden
Trail Conditions: Water, water everywhere...
Observations/Information: I hiked the White and Red Trails north of Lake Wintergreen. The trails were quite soggy with standing water in some places and running water in others. The seasonal watercourse on the White Trail at the Purple Trail was running freely (see photo). I cleared one blowdown, a spruce tree across the Red Trail, just south of the Purple Trail. I removed all the overhanging branches that were blocking the trail. The photo shows the cleared tree. Along other parts of the trail, I cut back some multi-flora rose and nipped the occasional overhanging branch. The trails are clear of overgrowth. I removed a bucket's worth of trash from the trails and parking lot. GPS track: http://ridewithgps.com/trips/3943687
