Big news is that construction is being done on the fire roads near/around Res 2. Spoke to a backhoe operator - nothing is closed.

The road from Res 2 to the west side of Res 3 has been graded, and the double culvert pulled out and replaced by a rock crossing. The steep hill is now smooth as a baby's tush (but still plenty steep). There's also a similar rock crossing on the east side of Res 2. Expect to see piles of material (crushed stone, ...) here and there.

TM: removed a birch branch across the trail down to the east side of Res 1. The branch was at a split in the tree, and the upper part is beyond my reach (and too big for the hand saw), but should be cut. Other than that, kicked some branches off trail. (I'll need to get into the upper trails soon and do some lopping of brambles.)

Other than the backhoe operator, saw a quick glimpse of someone walking by Res 3, and a couple guys coming into Res 4 with an inflatable boat while I was headed out.
