Naugatuck State Forest

Date: 4/13/2014
Report Type: TA Report
Trail Name: Naugatuck State Forest
Town: Oxford/Beacon Falls
Trail Conditions: Wet spots; plenty of branches down
Observations/Information: NSF (West Block) - some trails I rode the other direction than I usually ride (funny how different things look).

Some wet spots - trail east of Res 1 absolutely soaked. (Just off trail to the southeast of Res 1 is what looks like an old bridge.)  The two widow-makers from a few weeks back have been cleared.

Moist spots on the east side of Res 2, and the rock garden on the trail off the east that runs up the hill is pretty wet.

Branches down all over the place, mostly small stuff that can be tossed out of the way, but I found (and cleared) a small tree across the trail near the top of the hill (i.e. after the steep climb) that was already threatening to spawn a bypass.

I had the place entirely to myself - odd since it was such a beautiful morning.
