West Woods Preserve

Date: 06/22/13
Report Type: TA Report:
Trail Name: West Woods Preserve
Town: Guilford CT
Trail Conditions: Mostly Great- some wet spots
Observations/Information: Overall the trails in Westwoods have handled the heavy downpours and rain well. The usual low laying spots are still wet.
There is a large tree down (needs serious chainsaw work) on the white trail headed north (from sam hill) towards lost lake.
a new "going around or PP" trail has gone in on heading south on orange at the steep rocky fall line section. The new trail is also fall line and although rides easily now it will be just as horrible once the erosion begins... I will block this asap.
Lots of sections of overgrown branches and trees. I believe some trail gnomes trimmed back most of the white trail from Blue to the "Slick Rock Trail". This is needed in several other places as well.
