River Highlands State Park

Date: February 25, 2013
Report Type: TA Report:
Trail Name: River Highlands State Park
Town: Cromwell
Trail Conditions: Snow
Observations/Information: I went for a snowshoe hike at River Highlands Monday afternoon. The good news is that the snow is melting, bad news is that anywhere between six and twelve inches still covers the place. This will be one of the first places to dry out once it does melt.

I spent my time on the relatively trailless southern third of the park. I'm developing a plan to put a trail through the area. The terrain is perfect for a bike trail with gently rolling hills. I've included a landscape photo to try to convey that. The trail would complete the green loop on the southern end of the park and add between a mile and a mile and a half more trail.
