Report Type: TA Report:
Trail Name: West Hartford Reservoir
Town: West Hartford, Bloomfield and Simsbury
Trail Conditions: Slightly dry
Observations/Information: Pleasant late afternoon ride on a Sunday. Saw a few mountain bikers, but more hikers and walkers. I also saw what I think was a copperhead and a deer.
I can only enter one trail up top, but I also rode 1/2 of Penwood. I guess the green trail is supposed to replace the creek bed trail, because the creek bed trail is littered with blown down. Also, the end of the green, blue and the colorless one at Wintonbury Rd coming from the south all need some work. For an area that only sees moderate riding, they're super eroded, because they all pretty much go straight down the fall line.
