TM Report: Hartman Park

Date: May 6, 2012
Report Type: TM Report
Trail Name: Hartman Park
Town: Lyme
Trail Conditions: good, surprisingly dry after all the rain
Observations/Information: Last week I was walking the Red trail at Hartman and noticed the Bridge crossing the little stream right at the power line road was pretty much gone. People had been stacking rocks under and around it making it passable but choking the stream. The actual area right where it was crossing was kinda a choke spot anyway with a muddy over flow of the trails when the water got high, so when Linda (Town of Lyme Park land Manager) saw it we both agreed that we should move the bridge down stream about 50 ft and re-routing the trail to it. The land on either side of the new bridge is slightly sloped away toward the pond so even if there is any over flow in the area the path will drain. I measured up the Aprox length and the Town of Lyme ordered the material and had it delivered to my house where I pre-cut and dado-d the cross structure into the beams

anyway was a spur of the moment call to Linda,  do to the nice weather and we hauled the material out there today. Got it driven out about 80% of the way and then had to shoulder it the last bit. Once we got it there we decided to just go ahead a build it... so here it is.
