River Highlands State Park

Date: 05/28/2012
Report Type: TA Report:
Trail Name: River Highlands State Park
Town: Cromwell
Trail Conditions: Very Nice!
Observations/Information: As I parked, I spotted a NEMBA sticker on a parked vehicle. Moments later, I met fellow NEMBA and LTRA member Tom Brown, as he finished his ride. It's always nice to meet another NEMBA Memba!
Today, I rode my usual loop in reverse, which reminded me why I normally go the way I do. Conditions were hot, humid, and buggy. I did my part to feed thousands of hungry gnats today.
The trails were firm, with a nice tack, except for some black mud along the green trail, near the RR tracks.

As usual, the park was beautifully quiet. Other than Tom, the only other users I encountered was a quartet hiking along the white trail. Lots of golfers on the TPC, and plenty of boats and Jet Ski's on the river on this Memorial Day.
