George C Waldo State Park

Date: 3/29/12
Report Type: TA Report:
Trail Name: George C Waldo State Park
Town: Sandy Hook
Trail Conditions: Dry and great, then a dusting of white as the snow came
Observations/Information: Waldo State Park. We started at 10:30 in an attempt to beat the snow scheduled to start at noon. Shortly after entering the woods we met Glenn who informed us the trails were in great shape. I noticed he was riding a bike without derailleurs, now I wonder where they went? The snow began before noon, I missed the turnoff back to the Waldo trail and so we did the Daffy Duck trail again. The second time around, did not miss the turnoff and we cruised back to the parking lot as the woods were being covered with a dusting of new snow, beautiful...except I heard it will be changing to rain with more rain forecast for Saturday. Oh well. Paula, we thoroughly enjoyed the rolling trail network you have developed in Waldo. Thanks!
