Trail workers out riding |
Date: 2011-10-15
Report Type: TA Report:
Trail Name: Collis P Huntington SP
Town: Redding/Bethel
Trail Conditions: Damp and Muddy
Observations/Information: Still many post Hurricane Irene blowdowns block a lot of the trails.
Rock and Roll has a major blow down will be better served with a re-route rather than trying to cut down all the limbs and trunks.
There is some rutting taking place on Rock and Roll in the Mt Laurels that we need to fix at some point.
Similarly, at the bottom of Little Vomit (Green Trail) there is a tree down that is blocking the white trail entirely. There is a go around developing but there is also a muddy stream crossing, too, that needs serious armoring.
Rode the new relocated trail that I worked on as apart of the REI & Fairfield County NEMBA trail work day. Nice flow and lines but needs a lot more benching.
