Date of activity: October 9, 2010
Condition of trail(s): Dry
Trail Ambassador Name: Don Hazuka
Town: Clinton
Location: Cockaponset SF / Weber Woods
Encounters and Observations: An absolutely beautiful day!
Trail(s) worked: Unmarked off eastern dirt road entrance
Work accomplished: I drove up the eastern park road entrance to the spot where three tires had been dumped at an unmarked trail head earlier this summer;
over the last few days, a tree had fallen 100 yards in on that same trail blocking passage;
got to work and sawed off all necessary limbs to clear the trail and dragged them into woods; finished up and threw the tires in my vehicle and hauled them to the town dump ($$); it worked out great because it made me sick/mad riding by the tires, so the downed tree was the excuse I needed to get out there and get rid of them; two birds with one stone.
