TA Report: Rocky Neck State Park

Date of Activity:  October 20th
Location:  Rocky Neck State Park
Trail Ambassador Name:  Don Hazuka
Condition of Trail(s):  Very nice with light, colorful leaf cover
Observations:  I was on my way back from business in MA, and decided to squeeze in another ride on a parcel new to me; started from the west parking lot on 156, and was one of six vehicles parked there; headed south on the blue towards the ocean hitting some unmarked on the way; near the end I took a right on one that brought me to a wide open drop to the railroad tracks 15 feet below; not knowing the area, I decided to stay on marked trails going forward; followed the foot bridge over the tracks and checked out the incredible stone pavilion overlooking the ocean; rode the trails directly behind it, then over to the beach; passed a handful of walkers with dogs enjoying the day; looped around the red then white taking in the salt marshes, the tree colors, and the sea air; the trails were quick, rolling, with light technical features- lots of fun; back to the lot where my vehicle stood alone; two new rides in two days and both well worth the visit.
