The Newtown Trails Committee will be sponsoring a Trail Building School on October 30, 2010 at the Cyrenius Booth Library. This one day workshop will cover many aspects of shared use sustainable trails such as design, building low maintenance trails, tool safety, working with volunteers, and working with land managers. This class is open to anyone with an interest in trails, 12 years and older. This course is highly recommended for scouts, recreational and conservation organizations or anyone interested in learning how to design and build fun and sustainable trails. The morning session will be indoors, and after lunch ( bring your own), we will head out for field work at a local park in Newtown. Wear long pants, bring work gloves, and water and snacks..
