Observations: Place is real dry, trails nicely packed and fast, unusual amount of leaves on the ground already, most likely due to the very dry summer.  Ran into a mechanical on Ryan's bike as the pedal came apart and required a trailside fix, but his shoe was not releasing from the pedal, so we think something was out of alignment or bent.
