TA Report Millers Pond State Park

Date of Activity: July 29-30, 2010
Trail Ambassador Names: Glenn Vernes

Condition of Trail(s): Good
On Thursday I rode the XC portion of the red trail on my singlespeed. Great ride! Keeping that big gear turning takes determination, but it's fun. Not having to think about the gear you're in allows you to concentrate on the trail- the distilled essence on mountain biking. The trail was fine, although there were some sticks down from the wind, and a new tree or two.
On Friday I hiked the back section of the red trail, past the red/white cutoff. This section doesn't get as much use as the other parts of the trail, and the tread is smoother as a result. It's good stuff, similar to the rest of the trail, with a lot of log skinnies to ride across, and some rock armored sections. I'm going to ride this section more often.
