Encounters and Observations: trails in mostly good shape, but large patches of sloppy mud due to Saturday night’s wicked storm; downhill areas of loose, washed out rock covered with leaves presents challenge at speeds; lower part of yellow trail still requires detour which is marked with blue ribbons on branches at head level; detour in this section not top notch, but does the job; I upset a momma duck with young in the stream in this area with my presence; she left me alone without incident except some squawking and wing flapping; a nice short, lung burning ride to start off the work week.
