Morning Duration (Hours): 3 Observations: Fixed the mud hole at the south end of the "New Trail." Our crew rerouted a high-use trail around a constant mud problem -- a flat area/basin where water has had nowhere to drain. We added a few big rock choke points to keep traffic on the reroute and covered/hid the muddy area with brush and logs. In addition, some of the crew added a rolling grade dip in the section below where potential erosion could harm the trail at the streambed crossing. Photography courtesy of Pete Sofman |
