Cockaponset SF - Weber Woods section

Date: March 24, 2013
Report Type: TA Report:
Trail Name: Cockaponset SF - Weber Woods section
Town: Clinton/Deep River/Westbrook
Trail Conditions: Good but low lying mud/water
Observations/Information: Hiked out with the plan of clearing the chum from the trails in preparation for the riding season; started on the upper green, did a couple of unmarked trails, then back on it and saw a couple with dogs coming up the yellow; continued east towards the parking lot and saw another pair with a dog, then took the orange across the red then onto the lower green; the long, uphill stretch was a mess with lots of mud and standing water.
As I approached the farm I ran into two horse riders and we had a brief chat about the weather and wanting Spring warmth to come; headed home with plans of giving the trails a few more days for the mud to dry up a bit more.

27MAR13: Weber Woods are getting better every sunny day! Able to stop and go another way to avoid the wet. The motor did make a mess of some of the green trail.
