Upper Paugussett State Forest

Date: 12/2/12
Trail Name: Upper Paugussett State Forest
Town: Southbury
Trail Conditions: Leaf covered, very foggy, a little slick
Observations/Information: First did Upper Paugussett State Forest, then Waldo State Park. Took a couple of guys from Chesire up north, they thoroughly enjoyed the trails. Is there a shorter or easier connection by car from UPSF to WSP other than to take the Blvd to L onto Rt 6, to L onto Rt 34, over the bridge to L onto River Rd, to R onto Purchase Brook Rd. Is there a GPS house number for WSP, UPSF is 99 Echo Valley Road. We bumped into Mark Lurie scouting out some old, existing trails who informed us of several new trails around blow downs, etc. Nicely done! Lake Lillilonah was beautiful, even with all the fog, it is hard to believe that it is too polluted to swim and eat fish from it. And then the clouds broke as we all got into our cars for the ride home.
