Bridge 1 - Orange Trail
Date: June 11, 2011Report Type: TM Report
Trail Name: Hartman Park
Town: Lyme
Trail Conditions: wet, very wet, and buggy, VERY BUGGY!!
Observations/Information: Well, we all got up and it was raining. Figures, Weather guys says "just a few showers" Watched the radar and decided we'd all hook up at the lot at 10 instead of 9.. which turned out to be perfect!! Parker Lord (Lyme Town Selectman) loaded up his truck just like last year and off we went, 3 other bikers showed up and rode in to meet us at the spot. We had a total of 7 bodies which was about twice what I was expecting with the weather and all. What made it even better was one was my old Boss from back in the 80's. guy taught me 90% of the construction knowledge I use today so it made it easy to break off into 2 groups. Don't think it actual took an hour to set and assemble the 2 bridges total. We even stopped on the way out and cut a tree that fell across the trails where the Blue trails starts at the bottom of the hill. I was home before 1:30 so that tells how quick it all went!! Couldn't have asked for a better setup and group of people.. went pretty much flawlessly!! Damn Mosquitos were the only real problem, the things were unreal in there!!
