Trail Name: Hop River State Rail Trail
Town: Vernon, Bolton, Andover, Columbia, Willimantic
Trail Conditions: Excellent
Observations/Information: The trail was extremely busy with large packs of mountain bikers this afternoon. CTNEMBA TA Matt Viara ( also a member of Leisure Trail Riders Association) hosted a "40 Mile ride to Willimantic Brewery" beginning at 4:00. Another mountain biking group, "TCC" used the Hop River for some distance training. Assistance was given to a cyclist with a flat tire. In the Andover area, the Andover Gun Club was firing off some heavy rounds. This made for some tentative travel along this section. An outstanding day to ride, wonderful to see and talk to people along the way.
