TA Report: Cockaponset SF / Weber Woods

Date of activity: October 7, 2010
Condition of trail(s): Pretty good shape, some leaf cover, some light blow down
Trail Ambassador Name: Don Hazuka

Encounters and Observations: Headed out on the green to see what damage the weather had brought to the trails; luckily there was no standing water anywhere, and very little mud which was concentrated in the very center of low spots; rode across the orange near the pond where I caught a glimpse of a blue heron in flight and again was caught off guard as ducks took to flight with a roar; arrived at the west parking lot where one car was parked; up the blue to the white where I came across a trail runner decked out in fluorescent green (verbal greets both ways) and figured it was her car; looped up an unmarked to the green to the Quinimay, then back to green; I ran across a lot of small blown down branches on the trails, but not too bad; headed back home on an unmarked when I came across a large fallen tree totally blocking the trail (took a picture, but later realized my wife had taken the card out, so no dice); hiked around it and continued on home; it was a great ride after a long wait for the weather to subside.
