Weber Woods TA report for 6-9-10

TA Report: Cockaponset SF / Weber Woods
Date of activity: June 9, 2010
Condition of trail(s): Very good
Trail Ambassador Name: Don Hazuka
Encounters and Observations: very good ride in nice cool weather; low lying areas have pretty much dried up and passage is easy; lots of horse activity evidenced by several sightings of biscuit piles (no problem, we get along); decided to explore the lower section of the Quinimay Trail (aka the Epic Trail) to Route 80; had a hard time finding the turn onto it from the green, but did eventually prevail; this is not well traveled (not yet anyway) and offers plenty of frustrating fun due to the trail still being in its infancy and not well broken in; plans to visit the entire Quinimay northbound are definitely in for this summer; overall, a great ride with very few bugs and a wet greeting from mother nature near the end.
