Mark Lurie and CT NEMBA started building the Upper Gussy Trail back in 2006 and it was officially approved for construction in 2007. While the trail is about 99% complete (there is a little benching and trail blazing that needs to still be done) it is a contiguous trail that runs from the Brody Road in the forest south to Sanford Road for approximately 2 miles. The new map can be found on the DEP's website for State Parks and Forest Maps.
