TA Report: River Highlands State Park

Date of Activity: December 6, 2009

Trail Ambassador Names: Glenn Vernes
Trail Ambassador Email: glennvernes33athotmaildotcom
Town: Cromwell
Location: River Highlands State Park.
Trail(s) Ridden: Green, Red, Yellow, Yellow/Red.
How did you use the trail? Mountain Bike
What was the time of day? Morning

Duration (Hours): 1.25

Distance (Miles): 7.5

Condition of Trail(s): Dusting of snow, cold.

Observations: I was hoping for an inch or two of snow and the first snow ride of the year, but I had to settle for a dusting. There was, however, enough to make traction sketchy, allowing one to "Tokyo drift" the corners.

Someone is re blazing the red trail, painting over the red blazes with yellow, and a small bridge on that same trail has collapsed, but is still rideable. Trails are otherwise in good shape. I picked up a few sticks brought down by the storm, and cleared one small fallen tree on the green trail.
