TA Report: Nassahegon State Forest

Date of Activity: 4/19 - 4/25 Trail Ambassador Name: Mark L Town: Burlington Location: Nassahegon State Forest Trail(s) Ridden: Stone Road, Sessions Woods, Scoville Road How did you use the trail? Hiking & Biking What was the time of day? Mornings & afternoons Hours: 1 TA, 1.5 TM Condition of Trails: Varied with the somewhat extreme weather changes during the week. Dry and firm now. Encounters & Observations: Logging operations began this week in the Stone Road area. Learned that orange marked trees are the 2009 harvest. Blue marked were the 2008 trees. Trees are supposed to be taken by permit only and that each permit allows up to four cord to be cut. The local Boy Scout troop did a clean up of the Scoville parking area and did some structural repairs where needed. Another clean up is being organized for Memorial Day weekend by local riders. In all, most areas are looking better!
