Date of Activity: 4/5 - 4/11 Trail Ambassador Name: Mark L Town: Burlington Location: Nassahegon State Forest Trail(s) Ridden: Stone Road, Sessions Woods How did you use the trail? Hiking & Mountain Biking What was the time of day? Mornings; occasional afternoon Hours: 1.5 TA, 3.5 TM Condition of Trails: Dry and firm except in usual muddy areas Encounters & Observations: The trails along Route 69 north and south of the Scoville Road parking area are seeing a lot of pressure. The trails are riding very well despite this. Encountered several riders who were new to the Nassy and helped orient them to the network. They asked if trail maps were available - not yet, but soon! Unfortunately, there has been a resurgance of dirt bikes on the trails, especially on the weekends. The damage so far has been minimal. Will monitor their activity. Several local riders organized a "Be Good on Good Friday" clean up of the parking areas. A tip of the hat to them! I have also observed several citizens (non-riders) picking up trash along the sides of roads that run through the woods here. Nice to see. |
