Sawyers Course ... a Trail Builder's must have.

We are offering a discounted admission to our chainsaw safety/training session to all of our current members at 50% off. Normal per person fee is $150, but you can sign up now for only $75, and NEMBA will pay the other $75 for you!
The purpose of this training is to make sure that any CT NEMBA members who are going out to do trail work and may be using a chainsaw to do so are fully trained and qualified so they can work safely and effectively. CT NEMBA is in the process of developing a policy on the recommendation of the use of chainsaws for trail work by and for our members. If you feel you will be using a chainsaw for any trail building/maintaining projects you have in mind I wouldstrongly recommend you attend this course!
The course will be held in MANSFIELD CT on SUNDAY JAN 11 at ~9 in the morning. Plan on being out all day (course approx 5-6 hrs), and the CT NEMBA Board will be conducting a short meeting in the afternoon (location TBD) if anyone wishes to attend that as well. The course will cover basic chainsaw operation and safety including how to use it properly, sharpen the blade, safety/protective gear, selection of the right saw for you, etc. We will also be doing some live training on common trail issues including clearing of leaning trees, deadfall, blowdowns, lie-downs, etc. The course will be hosted by CHRIS MANVILLE of Logger Rescue CT.
If this all sounds good so far please contact Eric Mayhew (mayhew.eric@gmail.com) ASAP as we are on a short time-line. ( I apologize for the short notice! ) At this discounted rate we can only accept the FIRST FIVE respondents at $75pp. It is first come first serve!
He will return emails in the order of which they are received.
Thanks everyone, and hope you are still finding some time in the cold and snow to get out on your favorite trails!
